Exhibitions
The permanent exhibition The Icelandic Horse uses stage sets, films, video clips, and objects to take visitors back in time and explore the historical importance of the horse. Visitors can also see Theódór’s Parlor, dedicated to the memory of Theódór Arnbjörnsson, former horse-breeding consultant. Both exhibitions were created in cooperation with the Skagafjörður Heritage Museum.
On the upper floor is the temporary exhibition Our Horse: Colors, Bloodlines, and History, opened in 2025. It offers insights into the genetics of horse colors, displays objects connected to notable horses and horsemen, and even allows visitors to “go for a ride” using Horses of Iceland virtual reality glasses.
